You Can Charge Anything For A White Tee

Hey everyone.. hows the week been? Mine has been a blast so far :D. Anyways, as regards today's post, I came across this $120 plain white T-Shirt while i was looking for inspiration on the internet..lol. Sounds crazy yeah? How many people will actually spend $120 (₦19200) on a plain white tee all in the name of fashion? Well, there are many people like that since it was said to have sold out within a couple of hours
If you're wondering what make the t-shirt is, well its the "Hip Hop T-Shirt" from the Kanye West x A.P.C. capsule collection 2013 which was launched sometime last month. Apparently, it was reported that the pieces began selling out — and the French retailer’s site crashed in the wake of the frenzy — as fast as you can say “Yeezus!”
The plain white “Hip Hop T-Shirt,” a loose Egyptian cotton short sleeve shirt with the words “A.P.C. KANYE” silk-screened inside was the first to go out of stock. Nothing says luxury more than a $120 plain white T-shirt, according to Kanye West’s design logic. And it seems that fashion fans agree (i guess). The "A.P.C. Kanye" line includes two styles of jeans, two shirts, and three sweatshirts, with retail prices between $120-$280. Here's the photo of the T-Shirt and the whole collection.

I also stumbled on another plain white t-shirt that cost even more..lol
Hermes T-Shirt in white, one pocket with embroidered H logo, 100% cotton. $345.00

There you have it...let me know your thoughts on the $120 plain white tee... If you can actually pay that much for a plain  t-shirt when you can buy knock off  t-shirts under ₦1000.

Fashion Vs. Style

Hey y"all, hope your week has been good cuz mine has been splendid. So about this post, i've been trying to convince a friend that fashion and style aren't thesame thing. The terms fashion and style are commonly thrown around these days, however many people find it difficult to distinguish between the two but i just feel i should go ahead and educate my readers.
Fashion and style. What are they? Do they always go together? Do they mean one and the same thing? It's hard to say. I’ve come to the conclusion that there are two different types of people that are into fashion. You have those people who are stylish, and then you have those people who are fashionable. According to Oscar de la Renta, “Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself.”
So the key difference is the fact that "Fashion" is what is currently in vogue right now, that is, what is being featured in magazines, on TV and on the fashion runways Style, on the other hand, is unique to everyone. This is the person’s own opinion, their own choice in clothes and accessories. Style is something that has been modified and customized on an individual level to suit each person’s own personality and body.
There are many people who are fashionable, however they may or may not be stylish. These are the people who follow fashion blindly, without any regard to whether the fashion actually suits them or not. However, there are also a number of people who are stylish, but they are not considered fashionable. This is mainly because while what they are wearing is stylish and shows off their body and personality; what they may be wearing may or may not be currently in fashion.
The truly stylish man knows, understands, and respects the rules, yet knowingly defies and breaks them, bends them and interprets them as he pleases. Great style means not taking oneself or one’s garments too seriously, because to be honest, there are things in life way more important (fact). So Fashion is very 'versatile'. It keeps on changing, Style on the other hand, is considered more 'permanent and timeless', as it does not need to change. It may only change when the person does.

What are your thoughts?
Do you agree with my thoughts on Fashion Vs. Style? It’s okay if you don’t. I’d love to hear what you have to say. Why not leave it in the comments below?
